We’re quickly approaching the All-Star break in MiLB and this week we’re joined by two guests who are heavily involved in the two All-Star Games they are hosting. How’s this for awesome? The South Atlantic League All-Star game will have their Home Run Derby on an aircraft carrier!

Here’s what you’ll get in this episode:

Jay, Eric and Mike discuss All-Star Games and some of the first half champions.

We’re joined by Charleston Riverdogs General Manager Dave Echols. Dave fills us in on the planning involved in an All-Star Game and why the players will have new underwear.

Brian Boesch is the Media Relations director for the Winston-Salem Dash and they’ll be hosting the California League All-Stars vs the Carolina League All-Stars at BB&T Stadium. Brian tells us he’s looking forward to seeing some big name prospects from the Cal league.

Jay Burnham - Director of Broadcasting, Richmond Flying Squirrels - 2011 Minor League Broadcaster of the Year Jay Burnham is in his first season with the Flying Squirrels calling all home games and select road contests. The Shelburne Falls, Mass. native previously broadcast games for the Trenton Thunder, Asheville Tourists, Hagerstown Suns and Pensacola Pelicans before arriving in Richmond in 2013. Sam Sigal - Media Relations Assistant, Hickory Crawdads - A Princeton, NJ native but San Francisco born, Sam is in his first year in Hickory and second in Minor League Baseball. Sam spent the summer of 2012 as an intern with the Trenton Thunder under MLR co-host Jay Burnham. Sam graduated from Rider University with a degree in communications while serving as head student manager for the men’s basketball team. He is the self proclaimed guru of all things Rule 5 Draft and other arguably irrelevant minor league baseball information.
